It is a sad fact of school life that there is homework. Unfortunately, most people do not really learn in school without it. Your instructor only has a limited amount of time to teach you certain things and some of the concepts aren't really learned until you get the homework done.
Other things can only be done on your own, like learning to write really well. If you don't practice with homework, then you will never learn to put sentences and thoughts to paper. Make good study habits, and it will help you all your life, not just for the homework now.
