Dear Eric,
I'm relly sorry to hear that,I think copying somene eles's homework is a bad habit .As a friend,you should have a talk with him and let him konw your true feeling.First, you need to ask him to talk about the problem.It is no good for him to just copy,because he can't learn anything by doing that.Next,you can help him solve the diffcult questions after class and make sure he understands them.Don't be afraid to hurt your friendship,because a true friend is someone you can disagree with but still be friend.
I hope you can finally solve the problem.
