Hou Yi was one of the herows in Chinese myth. He was the best arch--er in his tribe. Long long ago, there were ten suns in the sky. The great heat dried out the water in the rivers and lakes.The plants, grass and woods couldn,t grow without water. The people had no food to eat and no water to drink. In view of this, King Yao ordered Hou Yi to shoot down the suns to rescue the people from their misery. Hou Yi overcame all the difficulties to carry out this duty and succeeded in shooting down nine suns and Killing the dangerous animals. Since then, there has been only one sun shining in sky. People can enjoy the favourable climate, enough food and water under the sun. Also Hou Yi won the immortal fame and admiration by people.
